Our in-house artist @ruthdrawsthings presents….

The Strip Club of Horrors!!

Happy Halloween guys n ghouls!

I’m Ruth – enthusiastic assistant for both Bendy Studio & The Bendy Brand, soon-to-be Beginners pole Instructor & aerial enthusiast! I’m also the designer behind all the in-house designed prints for The Bendy Brand. In addition to my many responsibilities here at Bendy HQ, I work as a freelance illustrator & today I am thrilled to share with you my latest illustrative series, combining my love of pole dancing with my passion for scary movies. Welcome to my hand-drawn Strip Club of Horrors!

It all began when Bendy Kate asked me to design the poster for our Halloween event this year. Despite insisting that I could re-use last year’s drawing, I couldn’t resist drawing something new! Taking inspiration from one of my favourite films – and directors – I transformed the iconic Tim Burton character Beetlejuice into a sexy pole dancer in a genie position – complete with green hair & the classic black and white striped outfit. The drawing received such an enthusiastic response when I posted it to my Instagram that I decided to give Stripper-juice some pals and produce a whole series.

I tried to think of horror characters with iconic & instantly recognisable looks; I also took to my socials to ask my followers for requests & suggestions! Soon Beetlejuice was joined by Freddie Kruger – all the way from Elm Street! – Ghostface from Scream, Pennywise the Clown from It & Billy the Puppet, AKA The Jigsaw Killer’s mascot from the Saw franchise. It’s one of my favourite series of drawings I’ve ever produced as well as being a firm fan favourite! I aim to continue the series next October too. Got any more suggestions? Feel free to message them to me so I’m prepared for next Autumn!

As an artist & dancer I am constantly bombarded with inspiration through the incredibly talented people that come and train here at Bendy Studio.  I feel very lucky that I’m never going to run out of amazing polers & aerialists to draw! I especially love to draw athletes because of the phenomenal strength they exhibit as well as the bonkers shapes they can get into! Just like all my prints for BB, every single one of these portraits was designed & drawn entirely by hand using my trusty brush pen & watercolour pencils. I’m hoping to put all this experience into starting a pole & circus life drawing class here at the studio in the new year so stay tuned!!
