Handstand & Floorwork Classes In South Bristol
Want to know what life looks like upside down? Find out by improving your handstands at Bendy Studio in Bristol! We have a class dedicated entirely to handstands and floorwork taught by instructor and studio owner Bendy Kate. It’s the perfect class whether you’re a handstand expert or just starting out.
Why try handstands & floorwork?
Handstands are a great way to build strength, balance, and body awareness. We aren’t all used to being upside down and balancing on our hands so this can help you connect with your body in a way that you would never think about whilst standing upright. You’ll gain core and arm strength as well as improving your stability both in your handstands and on your feet!
Floorwork is a great way to challenge your body and try new movement pattens. It’s also fantastic if you’re a performer looking to add an edge to any of your acts. In any performance you’ll have downtime and periods where you’re not using equipment or doing your main focus. This is a great time to add in floorwork which add interest to your act and help you get between spaces with flare.
This class is suitable for complete beginners to advanced hand balancers. You’ll learn everything you need to start handstanding comfortably and confidently. Each session will focus on a particular aspect of hand balancing from shapes to using canes or blocks to balance on. There is also a strong focus on floorwork transitions like rolls, kips, and swipes which are fun ways to add dynamic movement to your practice.
