What to Expect at your First Circus Camp

Join us for a kids camp at Bendy Studio! They are a great way to make friends and learn amazing circus skills. We host kids camps during school holidays and they’re perfect for letting out energy. It’s a fun and engaging day full of circus skills and new friends. There are so many benefits to learning circus from improving balance and coordination to social skills.

Example Timetable

See below for an example timetable for one of our Kids Circus Camps. Activities may change based on how everyone is feeling on the day. We can adapt to everyones energy levels and preferences.

8 – 9am Drop-Off
Meet your instructors and fellow attendees. We’ll have some colouring sheets to fill in while you wait for everyone to arrive. It’s a great chance to meet everyone and get ready for the day.

9 – 9:30am Warm Up & Games
Play some fun games to get to know everyone and warm up to prepare your body for a day full of circus fun!

9:30 – 10:30am Aerial Hoop
A masterclass in aerial hoop. Learn how to get into the hoop and some amazing tricks you can do once inside it! Aerial hoop a wonderful piece of equipment. We have some small kid-sized hoops which are perfect for children to learn this incredible skill.

10:30 – 10:45am Break
Time to have a break and get some water and a snack to refuel for your next activity.

10:45 – 12pm Acrobatics & Hand Balancing
Learn how to handstand and progress with some fun shapes or even balancing on the canes! Combined with learning acrobatic skills like walkovers and bridges. This is perfect for kids who like gymnastics and tumbling! It’s a fantastic way to improve balance and coordination.

12pm – 1pm Lunch (Half day drop off/pick up)
A long break to eat lunch and say goodbye or hello to anyone doing a half day.

1 – 1:30pm Warm Up & Games
Another warm up after lunch so you’re ready for the rest of the day’s activities.

1:30 – 2:30pm Aerial Silks & Hammock
Discover how to climb the silks and some great shapes you can do in a low knot. The silks will be tied low down so you can experience the feeling of shapes whilst staying close to the ground. Silks and hammock are often taught together as they have some overlap in tricks. Hammock or aerial sling is one piece of fabric looped into a sling shape. It can be a very relaxing and is often used for aerial yoga.

2:30 – 2:45pm Break
A quick break to rehydrate and have another snack.

2:45 – 3:45pm Circus Show
Choose your favourite song and create your own routine and show off everything you’ve learnt during the day! This can be done as a solo or in groups. There will be some time to create a short routine then everyone will perform to each other. You can be as creative as you like with linking moves or combining disciplines.

3:45 – 4pm Yoga & Stretching
A chance to wind down at the end of the day with some gentle yoga and stretching. This will help your body recover from such a fun day.

4 – 4:30pm Pick Up
Time to go home and tell your family about what fun you’ve been having all day.
