Why We Cancel Classes
In order to keep our small business running, we occasionally have to cancel classes. This isn’t something we like to do and we want to be fair to our students. So, this isn’t a decision we take lightly but unfortunately it is sometimes necessary. The good news is, there’s one easy way to prevent class cancellation: book a class!
What Can You Do?
Book early! This is the most important thing to ensure classes go ahead. It’s best to book on the morning of the class at the latest, but preferably earlier if you can. We know that sometimes you aren’t sure if you’ll be able to make a class and of course that’s fine. However, if you know you can make a class booking early can ensure it isn’t cancelled and help out others who might need to book later that week.
Book a course. Just like booking early, booking a whole course shows us that there is interest in a class. This means we will be more likely to run it in the future even if there are a a few cancellations.
Book empty classes. We know that being the first person to book is scary, but if you want to go to a class you should book a spot. It really encourages others to book if they see a class isn’t empty. They know they won’t be lonely and the class is less likely to be cancelled. You only need 2 more people after the first booking and each new booking makes the next one more likely!
Cancellation Criteria
We keep a close eye on class numbers throughout the day. If we notice there are fewer than 3 people booked on 2 hours before the class start time, we will cancel that class. We will always inform you if your class is cancelled and there are 3 main ways to find out:
- Groovio chat: A message into the groovio class chat saying that the class is cancelled today
- Groovio e-mail: An e-mail notification from groovio saying your class has been cancelled
- Instagram Story: A post on our instagram story saying which class is cancelled
Make sure to have groovio notifications enabled so you can stay up to date with your classes. Always double check the groovio message as you may get notifications if you booked onto another class in the same course. We will always say which class is cancelled in the message and the groovio chat will be for the specific course.
Refunds
Membership Bookings: You will be refunded a credit to your membership to use on another membership class.
Class Pack Bookings: You will be refunded a credit to you class pack to use on another class pack class.
Drop-In Bookings: You will be automatically refunded to your groovio wallet and can use the funds to book any other class.
Course Bookings: We will message you to ask how you would like to be refunded-either a wallet refund or we can book you onto an equivalent class free of charge (e.g. a drop-in on the next course or a different course).
